I have a 1 min projectin studio 8. I click the make disc button and select svcd the make disc panel comes up telling me the file size will be 1189.9 MB and is too big to fit on a disc. I cannot therefor create an mpeg file. All my mpegs I try to create show a very high mb rate. What is happening.

Hi,

Not used 8 yet but use 7 on a regular basis.

S-VCD usually comes in at about 2400Kb/sec. Can you select custom under settings/presets. and change the bitrate to something more sensible here.

I usually use the custom option, then use Nero to make the DVD/VCD....etc

That file size is for a setting of 2500kb/p/sec. It also says the disc will hold approx 31 seconds of video at that setting which is why my one min will not fit.I have encoded the same clip in tmpeg at 2500 cbr and the size is 37.3mb. So why does the pinnacle svcd setting at 2500 come up with a stupid 1189.9mb. I always get an error message whatever mpeg I try to render with studio7 or 8. This must be the reason but I havn't a clue how to remedy it.

I'm going to move this to the "DVD, VCD and MPEG" forum.
