Hi,

Some one had just sent me a email containing an attacment of a small clip they took on their camera video phone at a weeding I am working on. And have asked if I can include it in the final production.

I have tried to open the clip in every programme I have but without any luck.

Do I need a special programme to open this please?

Thanks for reading.

ZAK.

Have you tried opening the weeding clip in Quicktime Player or VLC?

Do you know what format the weeding clip is in? If you can work that out, you should be able to find some freeware program that will be able to convert to a format you can edit with.
It should be fairly obvious to you that the quality of the original footage will be pretty dire, and suffer more when re-encoded to a suitable codec.
Strange time of year for a weeding video though.......

Any extension on the filename?

Hi and thanks

Well yes I know quality will be poor, but clip is of someone who has since passed on.

File is called 3gp_auto_file_(default)

If that means anything?

Thanks for your help.

Zak,

Pretty sure Quicktime Pro will both play and convert these files. There are other converters too I think... suggest googling it.

Hi Zak,
Here is a free player and file converter that has many options. *.3gp files are common video format files used by sony Erikson and Nokia. Hope this helps:
