CD Burn problem

Initially I had two systems, one was for NLE and the other a Desktop for design use. I then bought a new system last week to replace the existing desktop I installed XP professional in the New system and it is also in the NLE system. with XP home in the old desktop.
My problem is that if I want to burn a file to cd, normally I would have right clicked, scrolled down to send to and click on my CD/RW and the popup wizard would take you through the procedure.
Now if I right click on any of the machines no drive is shown for me to select to burn to disc. If I try to copy and paste a popup box tells me " not accessible incorrect function".
The systems are not connected in any way the only common thing I can think of is that I have installed service pack 3 in all systems. does anyone have an idea as to why this has started now, appreciate any suggestions.

XP has very basic cd writing software built in.
Did the other machines have any extra cd/dvd burning software , not part of XP ?

Hi Gary,
I found the culprit this afternoon, it was service pack 3. I reinstalled xp in my new system that I got as that was all that was installed on it at the time, reformatted and installed service pack 2 and the facility has returned, so back to normal.
