CD-R80 DISKS FOR BACK-UP

Having purchased a number of the above CD-R disks, which are larger than the normal CD-R74 disks, I find that the larger capacity is not regognised.

My CD writing setup consists of a Yamaha 2226 writer, together with Easy CD Creator DE-Lux 3.5 software.

Those larger disks are still regognised as CD-R74 capacity.

Any ideas or thoughts would be much appreciated.

Alan

Because 74min CD's are the norm, Recording software sets this as a standard setting. When you want to copy an 80min CD you have to set it up manually (only a few copy programs do this automatically). You would normally set this up before you decide the type of cd you wish to write, name the disk, or nominate the files (for obvious reasons).

I do not use easy cd creator personally, but if it does not have the option, you can download other manufacturers software over the net. e.g Gear, winoncd, cdrwin, diskjuggler, etc. Some run on time limits others will be restricted to 1X copy speed until you purchase the full program.
