I've had a LOT of great responses our new movie poster, plus lots of questions thrown out about the how's and why's.
While not a complete "how to" or full blown tutorial, I did put up some info that might help spark some idea on your own projects.
The KERBEROS Poster (Key art)
The "hows" and "whys" - creating the poster - from concept to completion
hope it helps!
respects to all!
It helps if you have the artistic talent to recognize good design when you see it. The ability to use the tools at this level is also a bonus.
Fantastic job!
Not so hard - you just keep doing things until they are right!
Good design and I like it a lot, I see you have Rob James and Craig Irving on it but I cant zoom in enough to see the credits but I assume they did the re-recording (sound dubbing) for you.
I was on the Bafta judging panel that gave Craig the best sound dubbing Bafta for "Loved Up" in 1995:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0113710/, and those pics of Rob behind the desk at Twickenham were a joy to see.
I just saw that it is on my Love film rental service so I must get it out to hear a great soundtrack on DVD as we got it on VHS back in 95:http://www.lovefilm.com/film/Loved-Up/22159/?cid=ppctitles
Please do let us know when your film is available to buy as I would like a copy.
Yes, Rob oversaw and helped push me in the right directions, and smoothed out some of the transition going from a desktop computer to the massive mixing theater. Craig put up with me trying to take my film KERBEROS from a 5 to a 9... well I was dreaming of 11! Between us, I think we all did some work we are proud of. The movie and the experience was unlike anything they had ever tackled for lots of reasons, and gave me a taste of what it could and should be.
So now to get it out there. Looking for the right fests, the right avenues and contacts that see some of what they saw in it. Will enter some of the bigger ones in US and maybe even London, and some of the other European fests. Doesn't help to make a movie if no one ever sees it.
Like this movie, I have a long way to go, but we're getting there.
By the way, I have love reading your posts on so many subjects! Like Rob and a few others I've met along the way, an encyclopedia of things I want to know in hopes that it makes me a better film maker!
