Is there any way of getting a Firewire HD drive recorded with QT DV files on a Mac to play on a PC? What if you formatted the drive first on a PC?
Just curious for an interested client

If the disk is formatted as Fat32 first, then it can be read, at no loss of speed or functionality under Mac OS, as well as Windows.

The only thing is that if you have the option set in Windows to view system files and folders, then you'll see Mac OS's hidden folders and the directory files that it uses to store additional information about files. As I recall, every folder will have three (or maybe four) of these items in it when viewed under Windows.

It probably doesn't hurt to delete these things, because they'll be recreated when Mac OS looks again at that particular part of the drive, but there's no good reason to delete them, so advice the client to leave them alone.
