Premiere 6.5 on XP system Fast DVNow AV
I have not used my video editing system for some time but had previously been editing in Prem 6.5 including projects captured using Fast Forward under a previous version of Premiere (5.1).
I reloaded Prem6.5 on my system but now when I try to open a previous project and point Premiere to the clips only the AV files are listed although All Formats is selected. It seems the system does not recognise teh dif files as a valid file format.
The dif files are there as can be seen by looking at the disc directly with Windows.
After seeing a previous thread, I removed and re-installed the Fast Forward software (Tried build 264 and build 255 which I had available on my system). No improvement.
I suppose that I have forgotten something simple.
Could it be that I had to reload 5.1 and then the Prem 6.5 upgrade without going via v6.0 which I recall was actually the route taken?
Advice gratefully received.

With loading 6.5, all you should have needed is the 5.1 serial number.
I've seen the issue with not seeing DIF files occasionally with a Win2K system. I forget the solution - it may have related to one of the FAST drivers not loading, not selecting FAST-Dazzle as the format when Premiere starts, or project setup options. I've forgotten, but it was a failly simple fix.

Thanks for the reminder. You are right. I re-installed the FAST drivers using the link you gave in the reply to carap (thread a few before this one) and pointed Premiere to the files - now visible. Thanks again. JIMP.
