If unlike the dv now, the lite has no video in for onscreen (PC SCREEN) editing how do you see your edit points? Is it on the video monitor?

You can still see the picture on the VGA monitor, just as you can with DV.now.
DV.now Lite processes this on-screen display with software, whereas DV.now does it with hardware (the analogue inputs). That is why a faster PC is recommended for DV.now Lite.
Apart from the software inlay on the VGA monitor, DV.now Lite will constantly output the signal down the Firewire so that it can be monitored via the DV device and an external monitor.
