DABS have a refurbished DVD recorder on offer at £65. It has freeview and a 80GB HD and a 6 months warranty. Looks a good buy.

I found an 80GB Freeview box for £65 (Twin tuner but watch one, record one - not twin record, looks like same unit as the £99 Argos ones).

This one?

It's a Digihome PVR80 and you can download the manual form here: http://www.grundig.co.uk/content/ug/GUSTB80IV.pdf?language=en-GB which is simply a rebadged version. Twin tuner is slightly misleading but it is possible to modify the firmware to work as a twin tuner should.

I see they are now on 1-2 weeks wait but mine should arrive tomorrow. These were/are available from Argos.

I was really quite disappointed with mine.... unusual for Dabs. It came poorly packed and was cosmetically challenged. Deep gouges, dents and dings on the case. There were no instructions whatever with it, but the remote was present. (As noted in the previous post, I have a manual) It's an Argos retrun which has been badly treated by its first owner.

The firmware was v3.39 and not the current v5.4 which, I believe, solves a few problems. Because I'm off to Asia for a couple of months, I shan't be able to check it out until mid to late March, but it does come with 6 months rtb.

One recording from the EPG worked fine.
