Hello again. I seem to have the ability to edit everyones posts. Is this correct?

Editing posts

The ideal situation is that you can edit/delete your own posts but no-one else's. Moderators and Administrators should be able to edit/delete any post. That's how it was before the change. When I checked in earlier this morning, I seemed to be able to edit everything, but that would be right for me. However, now I can't edit your post. Be patient, it'll all come right eventually!

Get my test cards document, and cards for 625, 525, 720 and 1080. Thanks to Gavin Gration for hosting them.
Camera settings documents are held by Daniel Browning and at the EBU
My book, 'Circles of Confusion' is available here.
Also EBU Tech.3335 tells how to test cameras, and R.118 tells how to use the results.

The odd thing is I can edit Alan's but not Dugi's! How odd.

And I can edit yours!

How odd, I can edit some

How odd, I can edit some posts but not others too. It's a bit worrying that other people might be able to edit my posts.

Coo, and I was thinking that we'd be the Wikipedia of the forum world until Martin came along and broke it!

For the time being at least, only Mods and Admins will be able to edit posts.

That's not very good when people had alteted other peoples posts before it was fixed.  Now my previous post says something I didn't write and would like it removed.

Re: Edit other peoples posts

Martin (I presume your the site Admin?)

The edit permissions for Drupal forums are a little odd - this is because the top post in a thread is a node and the replies are all comments.

the correct permission (for authenticated users) to make it work are..

Forum Module - Edit Own Posts.

If your running Forum Access module then their are permissions there which can conflict. Various comment modules can also interfere and mess things up.

The permissions system in drupal is very powerful, but harder to use than the VB one!
