Hi All,
Tom Hardwick, JMCP,Maglink you gave me advice last year and i thought you might like a followup ( you don't see many) as to the outcome. The youngster my grandaughter took one look at the 30D and said it's too big/heavy and no video don't want it!! and then went out and bought a 550D ( now stolen!!) I kept the 30D got hold of a very cheap secondhand as new Sigma DC 18-125 3.8-5.8 HSM Lens, and put into storage my Kodak Z series compacts. During the past year the 30 has served me well, taking ( for me) superb pictures of anything and everything i want to take.It just shows you dont have to spend a fortune to own a good Canon camera, the 30D is quite a good speced camera with an added bonus you can get it repaired in the unlikely event of it going wrong.I feel this camera will be with me  for a very long time.

Glad to hear the 30D is working well for you.  I have a 10D and that too works beautifully, every bit as good as my 60D, just smaller file sizes.
