Well, I suppose it had to happen one day - the dreaded dead hard drive. Switched on this morning and no external firewire drive, listed in system but wouldn't access through Disk Manager. Local shop said five to six days and they could give me a bin load of files to sift through - just what I wanted to hear:(
But good old DV Doctor to the rescue yet again. A quick search brought up 'File Scavenger' and within a few minutes with the trial version I could see the files were all there and recoverable - a few key strokes for my card number to pay for the full version ($49) and I was editing again in less than an hour.

THANK YOU DV DOCTOR :) :) :)

If you download the trial version first it will let you see what is recoverable - you need to buy the full programme to allow you to do the actual transfer. I reckon it was worth every penny concidering the time saved, once i'd transfered the recovered files it realy was just a case of a double click on the saved project icon and I was back in business.
