I need to buy an external drive for my new G5. I've read thru many of the posts and it seems that people like the Maxtor One Touch. From the specs I read, it seems that its a Firewire 400 drive. What do people think of FW800 for digitizing video?

Thanks,

don't have fw800 , but it isn't required for digitizing video , as fw400 is the rate of data transfer from dv cameras etc.

fw800 will be well beyond present requirements , though may be essential for hd editing.

i would assume great for reading multiple streams from same drive.
