Has anybody used these? I hear they are good, but never had a chance to try them myself. I'm putting together the kit for a (very) small studio, and was considering having a Kino-flo ceiling mounted, as it seems to be ideal for to-camera presentations against a greenscreen (well, Reflecmedia type) and product shots, both of which I will be doing in the studio. Should I get two for a key/fill, or would one be enough?
Any suggestions greatly appreciated!
James
1) very good quality
2) expensive
3) could use a reflector for fill.......
Thanks! I'm trying to create a setup which can just be turned on and used. A reflector would probalby have to be set up for each shoot. I guess I probably need two...
take a look at david Lawrence ligting.
he does flurie's
Thanks - checking.
They look just the ticket!
They've been around for a long time, and are very good. The nicest thing about them is that they supply daylight and tungsten tubes, i.e. tube sets that illuminate at about D65, and at about P3100. They are expensive, but you get what you pay for.
Thanks, Alan. Have you had any experience of the SunStar kit also suggested?
No, not the Sunstar. Kinoflo is definitely full-blown professional kit, which is how I come across it on broadcast shoots. I measured the colorimetry of their tubes at least 20 years ago and was impressed then, and still am.
