Maxtor firewire drive PSU

the girlfriend's got an aluminium cased maxtor drive and has left the PSU in canada. Anybody got one here that they can tell me the polarity of the plug with?

Mine is a plastic cased one and the PSU doesn't fit as it's a four pin din thingie.

Mine says the "inner" is +, the outer "-"

You can buy spare PSU's in North America but not here for some reason!

I thought of buying a whole new drive set up to share PSU's until she can retrieve hers but I do have a largish 12v psu sitting on the shelf.

My Maxtor PS is 12v and 3W output if that helps (it is for the silver cased model)
