I'm considering purchasing ME66 after careful consideration. My question is what exactly do I need to get? I've been reading that the ME66 needs the power module but I intend to use this mic on my PD170. Do I need anything other than the mic? Can someone tell me specifically what I'll need in order to use this mic on my camera? I know I'll have to get a short XLR cable to work with the camera. Anyone knwow where I could get one or do I need to get one custom made? TIA.

The ME 66 is only half a microphone, the K 6 is the other half – you will need both.

You will also need a mount, windshield and XLR cable.

The Rycote Multimount is a good choice of on-camera shockmount – and – you can either get a Rycote Softie or use the more simple Sennheiser MKW 66 Pro velour foam windshield.

Cable is best made yourself with good flexible cable to avoid transmission of noise from the camera.

I hope this helps.
