I'm using (trying to use)the dazzle mojave, dealt from dell. the support told me, that it's originally the dazzle dv-av-now and that many people use the dazzle mojave with dv-av-nov drivers.
I'm using Win98SE and the Windows Installer always installs driver of a normal firewire port (Texas Instruments). I delited them, but the Installation program of the FastForward(+dv-av-now-drivers) can't detect the hardware and the setup is determinated. Can someone help me?

WIN98 (not using SE, don't know if it is the same) will prompt three time in the boot process for the three different drivers required by the DV.now AV card. Each time the correct response is to "just say no" to the Windows offered drivers. After this, one caninstall the DV.now AV. When all is done there will be three FAST drivers on the system.

However, do not know whether or not this will work with the DELL-supplied system.
Also, if I recall correctly, there may have been some issues with some DELL systems a year or two ago that were ultimately resolved by installing an updated BIOS. You might look into old posts for dditional clues.

Can you elaborate on these three drivers?
In my case (I have win98se) the first driver
(DEC 21152 PCI to PCI bridge) loads automatically without prompting for cancellation.
Then, the secon one is Texas Instrument 1394 driver, which could be cancelled.
The third one is "Multimedia Device" which could be cancelled as well.

Now, this BIOS you are talking about is it for Dazzle card?
Obviously he has obtained a card from Dell, but he didn't install it on Dell system, so the BIOS is not for motherboard is it?

The PCI bridge driver is related to the PC, and should not bother the DV.now AV card, other than under WIN98 interrupt sharing with other devices is likely to cause problems.

The three drivers installed and asssoicated with the D.now AV card are something like:
FAST IEEE 1394 Interface
FAST C-Cubed Driver
FAST 7146 Driver

The BIOS I mentioned was for the motherboard. Motherboard BIOS usually are specific to a give make, model, and revision of a motherboard. Many recent models of PCs (last 6 or so years at least) include the ability to update the BIOS using a DOS boot disk and manufacturer-provided software utilities tah can be downloaded (with instructions) from the makers web site.

Where I can find these drivers?
The dazzle software fron Dazzle Europe won't recognize the card.
Can I just install these three drivers manually?
My Dazzle board is not defective.
I went to Dell site and downloaded Dell drivers for Dazzle Mojave card and diagnostic software.
Then I have run diagnostics and got 100% pass.
The problem with Mojave drivers is that they are designed for Video Wave 4 software.
I downloaded Video Wave 4 tryout and it didn't work.
Dell says, I need Dell version, modified for Mojave card, but is not available anywhere.
I guess, my only chances is to use Dazzle Fast Forward drivers, but I can't make them recognise the card.
"Hardware not found" is the usual message.
Is there any way around it, maybe change operating system?
I have tried Win98SE and Win XP.
My video card is Matrox G200.
Any problems with this?
My Dazzle card is on separate (not shared) IRQ 10.

Please, advise!

Have you tried the card in different slots?

IF the FASTForard installer cannot see the card, there emust be something different about it from the standard DV.now AV card sold in the FAST package, or somehting different about your PC. What kind is it?

My computer is Pentium 4, 2.4GHz Intel CPU on Shuttle motherboard.
MB has just audio integrated (IRQ5).
There is no other cards in the computer except Dazzle & Matrox G200 AGP video.
I tried the Dazzle card in the other slots (this MB has 5 PCI slots), but results were the same.
Only slot 1 gives me possibility to separate IRQ.
Slot 2 is sharing IRQ with audio, and slot 3 with USB.
I tried to disable audio and USB in BIOS, but the Dazzle card was still not detected.

I don't know if Mojave is different from Dazzle DV now AV.
I compared photo pictures from Dazzle site with my card and they look identical.
Also a lot of people in this disscussion group say that they were succesfull using mojave with Dazzle drivers.

What about DEC21152 PCI to PCI bridge?
Why it is loaded after Dazzle card installation?
Is it normal?
Maybe that's what preventing detection?
Also I can not stop Texas Instrument 1394 driver from loading.
I think if I would be able to upgrade it to fast1394 driver, maybe the card will be recognized.
The problem is where to get these three fast forward drivers, to install them manually?

With WIndows98SE, can't you delete the TI driver from the conrol panel, reboot, and when the new hardware device is found, skip the install?

No, WIN98se automatically installs the TI1394 driver every time after re-boot.
You can not stop it.

From a suggestion in another thread, can you delete the drivers (there will probably be more than one) from the control panel/system/device manager and then install the FF drivers before rebooting?
