I have been running W2K with 1.5 for a long time w/no problem.
I just got a new computer w/XP and moved my card over and installed 1.7. All Installed fine (Premiere 6.0, 6.01 patch, then DV.now 1.7). Capture works fine in both FF and Premiere, but when I play back anything, I get a little bit on my digital camera (blothcy but you can see a little of the video at least), and on my Monitor I just get wavy lines.
I put the card back in my old W2k system (on 1.5) and it worked fine. So I upgraded the drives on the w2k system to 1.7, and I get the same "no output" problem. I uninstalled the 1.7 drivers re-install the 1.5 drivers, and it works fine again.
1.5 was fine on w2k, but i understand that there are some problems with 1.5 on XP. I am now going to try 1.6 on XP and see what happens, but I would really like to get 1.7 working.
Any suggestions?

More Information:
I have determined that my problems have nothing to do with XP or the different machine because I get the same behavior on my Dell 4100 with W2k pro as I get on my dell 8200 with XP. It seems to be a problem between the drives and my dv.now card (again, I am using the same card in both systems).
I have the fast drivers 1.5 (207A), 1.6 (240), 1.7 (255) and 1.7 beta (256), and I have tried all of these in both my w2k and my xp system. In all cases, 1.5 works fine, but 1.6, 1.7, and 1.7 beta all have the same problem, that is, the output on the 1394 looks terrible (just wavy lines on an analog tv, and blotchy output to my JVC DVM70 Video recorder. The video on the computer monitor looks fine, its just the output on the 1394 port that is bad. As soon as I uninstall any of the 1.6 or 1.7 drivers and re-install the 1.5 dirvers it works fine.
Help! I must be missing something simple - I can't believe that my card is just not capable of supporting the new drivers?
Have you guys at FAST even seen this before?
