Anticipating the purchase and use of a new external Hard drive, I wondering about people's experience with partitioning the external drives. While this drive will primarily be used for digitizing video, it might also have digital photos on it.

I just bought a G5 with a 250 internal hard drive. I'm also wondering about partitioning this drive, which will lots of different kinds of files, including email, on it.

thanks

partitioning the drive will allow writing of photos to one section and video to another , where neither will get mixed up with the other and therefore help stop fragmentation of the drive.

but as we are talking 'mac' people like mooblie and pauld will have better mac specific answers.
