Photoshop twin monitor colour error

I have Photoshop CS2 v9.0.1
Today I created a new canvas, which was displayed across the 2 monitors (windows xp home).
I filled it with 255 pure blue.
The left monitor displayed blue, the right monitor displayed purple.
I'm not talking of a subtle difference - but a massive difference.

Other blue bits, such as the photoshop window frame, sub-windows and layer window 'active layer' marker all display normal blue (so monitor not at fault).

If I look at the channels widow, the RGB layer is purple (viewed on r/h monitor).
Drag the channels/layers window to l/h monitor and channels RGB is still displayed as purple. Click on layers tab, then back to 'channels and the RGB properties displayed correct as pure blue.

Tried after affects and photoimpact and they display correct on images spread across the 2 monitors.
Re-booted pc / application - same problem.

If I drag the tools window from left to right window, they each have colour picker as pure blue.

I upgraded to CS2 about 2 months ago and removed V7, so maybe it's a CS2 glitch?

Any ideas?
