I am attempting once more to install my DV NOW Lite on the W2k platform.
it works perfectly on my system when I run W98SE, but I want my new OS installed.

If I select OHCI (relax & read on) or Texas drivers then my system will run happily (although the card obviously will not work).

When I change to Fast driver (1.5 or 1.6) I suddenly have a major problem, if I try to access the card, windows immediately restarts (or at least attempts to). At the final stage of starting up, windows hangs and gives a cryptic message about ‘ntoskrnl.exe’ failing. The only way that I can start windows is in safe mode to disable the driver before rebooting.

I don’t believe that this is an IRQ problem; my Asus m/board has 6 PCI slots the card is in PCI-3 because PCI-3 is the only one that doesn’t share IRQ’s I have also assigned IRQ-10 to PCI-3 nothing else tries to access IRQ-10

Please help, I have built this system around the FAST card (Jan this year) I am not about to throw more cash at it; I would rather change the card (if I could find the cash).

Exactly the same problem, exactly the same config (motherboard Asus A7V, migration from Win98SE to W2K).
The message is IRQ LESS OR NOT EQUAL.
Hope that someone else solved the problem

If anyone out there cares
Hopefully this will give others struggling for a possible solution something to think about.

I have solved my problem; fortunately I was not only dependent on the hope that a FAST modulator would come to my aid! I am slightly knowledgeable in PC configuration issues.
I have been pulling my system apart and trying all various configurations and the most surprising discovery was that the problem was not directly down to IRQ issues!

We are told that the DV Now will not share IRQ’s, funny thing is, now that I have it working happily, it is sharing IRQ 9
It shares it with:
The ATI Rage Fury graphics card
The Advansys SCSI adapter
The Diamond Sound card
The Diamond Supra Express modem
The Modems Vortex multifunction PCI parent
The USB host controller

The problems came from the Advansys SCSI adapter, after reconfiguring the BIOS I now have everything up & running smooth as silk

W2K always display all the device on IRQ 9. it's not the hardware real IRQ number. I carefully configured my BIOS to assign a separate IRQ to the FAST card and it still doesn't work!

Seems those card does not work under windows 2000 !

My DV Now lite runs without problems with win98Se (Asus A7V266E). With w2k, the fast forward driver gives me à bleu screen and i need to re start with safe mode to disable the driver.
Does the problem resolve with XP Pro?
