Hi
I'm having problems with a second HD a 20gb 7200 rpm i'm still getting inconsistent playback from the timeline in Prem 6 I've enabled DMA and disabled write behind caching for the drive.
What is a typical read/write speed for this type of drive and what type of cable should I be using.
The rest of my system should be up to the job 800 mhz 128 mb ram windows 98 SE belkin firewire card, i've got the latest DX 8a and the Prem beta update,it can only be the HD that is some how causing the problem, i,m sort of getting p***ed off with it all now, one problem after another and costing me a fortune, look forward to some good advice.
Regards Steve

Where is the swap file ?
If it's on the second drive , it could be causing slowdown.

As for cables etc , have a look in the FAQ forum ... bob's explained it in
