W2K Prof, Fast Forward 1.6, Premiere 6.0, Athlon Thunderbird 900, 384MB SDRAM, Guillemot Fortissmo soundcard, Asus V3800 Videocard, Promise Ultra 100 IDE controller, Asus mobo K7A.
Problem:
After a few minutes of recording the video from my Panasonic NV-DA1EG with Fast Forward the system hangs. The only thing is to reset the PC with the reset button. At Dazzle's support page I read something about not sharing the DV.now card with other cards. Looking at my IRQ list I noticed that the soundcard, videocard, Promise IDE controller, two USB controlles and the DV.now card are sharing all the IRQ-9 !!!!
I tried to change the IRQ addresses but its not possible at all (none of the IRQ-9 users can be changed !!!).
I think that hanging of the system has something to do with the shared IRQ of the cards, but how can I solve this problem ???

You might try swapping the DV-Now card to a different PCI slot on your M'Board. This can cause the PC to reallocate IRQs. There is another option for a fix involving disabling PCI Bus Steering but I don't know if this would work on Win2K; it is an option on Win 98Se and Win ME and worked for me when I had problems with my AV Master.
Having said all that, my DV-Now card shares IRQ 11 with "IRQ holder for PCI steering" and it still works!
Hope this helps.

David,
I've tried all other PCI slots already. The card is now in slot 2 (acc. mobo handbook a slot which is not sharing).
I red something in a post of May 4th, 2001 (at AMD-based video editing systems)about changing the "ACPI" into "Standard PC". I did and now the card have its own IRQ (9), however when I recording with Fast Forward from camera to PC the system is hanging after approx 5 minutes (was approx 20-30sec!!!!). When I'm recording with Premiere 6.0 the system does not hang (uptill now, LOL).

It was to early for LOL !!!!
System hangs within a few minutes of recording with Premiere 6.0, d....d!!!
Any suggestions how to solve this problem ???
After surging the www I found out that my (oldfahion) ASUS K7M VIA chipset was not able to work with the DV.now card.
Finally I bougth a new MSI K7T266 Pro mobo with a 1.4MHz Athlon. System doesn't hang anymore.
If it is stable ??? Lets find out !!!
