Is updating to 10.6.6 safe?

Anyone done it and survived? I've heard rumblings about prokit 6.something causing FCS problems. As I don't understand what prokit is, but suspect I use it all the time, I'm very wary of the upgrade, so would very much welcome any feedback on it.
Thanks
Dominic

There are always some people who find a problem with Apple updates. the only SAFE way to update is to clone your main OS drive before any update, I've done it this way for the past 6 years or more. If it's vital for you to have a proven, working system you should clone your drive on a regular basis and certainly before doing any updates - I know from experience!

(Use Carbon Copy Cloner - you can't beat the price for the security, it's FREE)

Thanks Dave. I'll check out Carbon Copy. I have Time Machine working on backing up my system drive, but I'm not sure it really does what I need - seems more focussed on home use, rather than professional, or am I misunderstanding it? D

We updated recently and have not had any FCP problems so far.
