Thanks, Roy. To re-iterate the message to EVERYBODY:
There is a new menace out there - spammers now sending PMs, rather than just thread posts or emails, which is affecting (infecting) many forums, not just this one.
If you receive ANY odd PMs, please ignore/delete and DO NOT FOLLOW any links. We believe it's OK to just read them (to ascertain the sender), but just don't follow the links.
Naturally, we ban them for life as soon as we find them, and we are taking other steps to stop this too.

I can't get my head around the amount of work necessary for a spammer to send out individual PMs. To what end? Do they think we're all halfwits like they are?
Clearly, yes, they think we're half-wits. Sadly, there are enough half-wits around for it to be worthwhile. What we're attempting to do is remove the threat before it gets out. Bob and the real admins are working on it.
