I have started posting videos up onto Vimeo and trying as best as I can to get the best picture quality/ fidelity balance.
Vimeo publish recommended settings but I've found after the files are converted by Vimeo themselves the results are sometimes disapointing.
I've found the technique of passing off a SD file as HD can help keep the quality high, but wonder if others have suggested quicktime settings for SD4x3, 16x9 and HD16x9 that work well with Vimeo?

I always upload to vimeo and you tube at apple tv rates which is H264 1280x720p at 5mbs.
I think they drop with bit rate down to 1.5mbs but this seems to get me the best HD results.
