Is it safe to assume that all modern hard drives are suitable for video capture?
I want to get a new drive for capture (S-VHS) but am slightly confused. Having looked at a number, they all seem to have the necessary sustained rate.

This question has been asked a dozen times here. The answer is that, yes, virtually any modern UltraATA drive will be okay.

Now look at the various warnings contained in recent posting by myself about the fact that you can only buy ATA66 drives, and that these may not be recognised by your PC as being speedy drives (there are other issues, too, about the type of data cable - must be 80-wire; and about BIG drives ie larger than 32GB).
