I have had along with many others enourmous problems with this upgrade see Adobe/Creativecows forums.
I have re-formatted drive & now back to 6.0
If anyone is about to do this upgrade read the following which is not in the box:

When you install Premiere 6.5 on a system that already contains Premiere 6.0, then the new version will coexist with the old one, so that both may be used with your Pinnacle product.
However, the Pinnacle plugins for your product will not be copied to the Premiere 6.5 installation, this must be done manually. To do this, please proceed as follows.

(1) Make sure that your Pinnacle product is fully operational with Premiere 6.0.

(2) Check the software version of your Pinnacle product:
• DV500, DV500plus or DVD500: software version 4.0 or higher is required
• Pro-ONE: software version 1.5 or higher is required
• Pro-ONE RTDV: software version 2.0 or higher is required
If necessary, upgrade to the version listed above. Then check again that your Pinnacle product works with Premiere 6.0.

(3) Now install Premiere 6.5. You may also want to install any other optional software that is provided by Adobe as part of the Premiere 6.5 package. Restart your PC if prompted to do so.

(4) The Premiere plugins and settings of your Pinnacle product now have to be copied manually from the Premiere 6.0 installation to the Premiere 6.5 installation.
• Copy the folder named “Pinnacle” from c:\Program Files\Adobe\Premiere 6.0\Plug-ins to c:\Program Files\Adobe\Premiere 6.5\Plug-ins.
• Copy the folder named “TitleDeko” from c:\Program Files\Adobe\Premiere 6.0 to c:\Program Files\Adobe\Premiere 6.5.
• Copy the file IMPT-Titledeko.prm from c:\Program Files\Adobe\Premiere 6.0\Plug-ins to c:\Program Files\Adobe\Premiere 6.5\Plug-ins.
• Copy the file IMPT-tdk.prm from c:\Program Files\Adobe\Premiere 6.0\Plug-ins to c:\Program Files\Adobe\Premiere 6.5\Plug-ins.
• Copy all folders named “Pinnacle…” from c:\Program Files\Adobe\Premiere 6.0\Settings to c:\Program Files\Adobe\Premiere 6.5\Settings

All features of your Pinnacle product will now be available with both Premiere 6.0 and Premiere 6.5. Please also note the following:
• Always select a Pinnacle preset when starting Premiere 6.5
• Check the Scratch Disks and Device Control settings in Premiere 6.5 (Edit-Preferences). Make sure that your video drive is used for capture and preview files and that Pinnacle DV device control is selected.
• It is not possible to open both Premiere 6.0 and 6.5 at the same time.

New features of Premiere 6.5

Adobe Premiere 6.5 includes a number of new features that are supported by your Pinnacle Product.
• Titles made with the new Adobe Title Designer can be played in real time with your Pinnacle product. Note that you can still use Pinnacle TitleDeko to create titles and that it is possible to use both Pinnacle and Adobe titles together in one project.
• Your Pinnacle product supports the Adobe MPEG Encoder, allowing you to export your project in MPEG1 or MPEG2 format for DVD or CD creation. If your target format is DVD/MPEG2, we recommend that you use the hardware-accelerated Pinnacle MPEG2 export, as it is both faster and provides superior quality.
• The software real time preview feature of Premiere 6.5 is not available in conjunction with the real time features of your Pinnacle product. To use it, an Adobe-supplied preset must be selected when starting Premiere.

I hope this information helps. Any comments or suggestions you have will be appreciated, and if anyone runs into anything quirky that is applicable, I'm sure we'd like to hear that too.

I have subsequently discovered that this upgrade is a complete application, I mistakenly assumed that one just popped in the CD and that was that! I find that the orginal version 6.0 must be unistalled or it or the upgrade will just not work, further more the original version gets mucked up as well.
Pity Adobe didn't mention that in the box!.
This upgrade is obviously causing lots of problems from what is being put up and the Adobe and Pinnacle website forums!
