I have been unsuccessful getting a still shot onto my video.I have tried:-
freezing first frame
using snapshot facility in DV tools
capturing from camera while on pause mode
Does anyone have any other suggestions please ? All the above methods give a shaky image.

Hi Barbara,

I assume what you want to do is take a still image from video.

In Premiere i set the in point at the image required and then right click and go into video options. I then select the option for freeze frame (or something similar) and I then check deinterlace.

From your post it sounds like you are not deinterlacing which is absolutely crucial on moving video.

Hi Barbra,
I use premiere 6 myself and when I want a freeze frame I bring the marker along the timeline to the frame I want then go to export timline, select frame, this will allow you to create a bitmap which can then be inserted wherever you want and duration hope this helps
